SCHOLAR
Dr. Bush holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Claremont Graduate University in Urban Educational Leadership. Dr. Bush’s dissertation examined African American men success in the California Community College system.
Dr. Bush is a scholar practitioner and has served as an adjunct faculty member for several graduate programs. Moreover, Dr. Bush is the co-author of several books and has publications appearing in a variety of journals; including, the book entitled The Plan a Guide for Women Raising African American Sons from Conception Through College . In addition, Dr. Edward Bush along with brother Dr. Lawson Bush are the founding theorist of African American Male Theory. In addition, Dr. Bush has authored, and co-authored research briefs and guides designed to inform community college practitioners and policy makers on issues relating to advancing equity Towards A More Perfect Institution and Advancing Equity Through Pathways. Dr. Bush is considered one of the preeminent scholar-practitioner on research relating to equity, diversity, student success and leadership with the California Community College System.
