The Sankofa Research Model is an African-centered research framework designed to restore cultural memory and empower transformative scholarship. Grounded in ancestral wisdom and contemporary research practice, the model guides scholars through the processes of (Re)membering, (Re)storing, and (Re)birthing narratives that strengthen communities and advance justice.
(Re)member
To (re)member is the act of gathering the dismembered.
(Re)store
To (re)store is to resurrect Black people.
(Re)birth
To (re)birth is to use the Sankofa (re)search approach.
